Hello, Trainer! Are you ready to play an amazing game?
In this game, you get to build a team of powerful, friendly monsters. You will go on an adventure, make new friends, and battle other Trainers to see who has the best strategy.
To win, you will need to use your brain. You will practice reading your cards, you will solve fun math puzzles, and you will learn how to be a great sport!
This guide is written for brand-new Trainers and the grown-ups who cheer them on. You do not have to memorize everything in one day. Tiny practice sessions — five or ten minutes — add up fast. If something feels tricky, it is okay to pause, laugh, and try again tomorrow.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game is a turn-taking game. That means you wait politely while your friend makes their moves, and they wait for you. Taking turns is practice for classrooms, sports, and every friendship you will ever have.
The Golden Rule of Trainers
Before a battle begins, great Trainers always shake hands with the other player and say, "Good luck and have fun!". When the game is over, no matter who wins, we always say, "Good game!"
