TAKING A TURN
TAKING A TURN
Taking a turn is as easy as following four steps in order: Draw, Bench, Attach, and Attack. Just follow these steps every time it is your turn!
Take one card from the top of your deck and put it in your hand. You must do this at the very beginning of every turn!
If you have new Basic monsters in your hand, you can put them on your Bench so they are ready to battle later.
Pick one Energy card from your hand. Slide it under one of your monsters. Remember, you can only attach ONE Energy card per turn, so choose carefully!
Choose one of your active monster's attacks. Make sure you have enough Energy attached to pay for it. Once you attack, your turn is over!
After you attack, your turn ends right away — even if you still have cards in your hand you wish you could play. That is why Trainers think ahead: Bench before you attach, attach before you attack, and only choose an attack when you are truly ready to pass the turn.
Practice saying the four steps out loud like a chant: Draw, Bench, Attach, Attack! When you forget a step, smile, rewind, and try again. Even grown-up Trainers make sequencing mistakes; fixing them kindly is part of the game.
👨🏫 [Parent Prompt]
Let's practice the steps. Have your child physically act out drawing a card, placing a card on the table to be the Bench, and sliding an energy card under it to Attach.
