At Masters you are not just managing a hand — you are managing information, tempo, and variance under a real clock. Resource management means knowing which Supporters anchor your turns, which Items can be spent to thin the deck, and which pieces must survive until the final prize race.

Meta awareness is part of that resource picture: you choose attackers and counts expecting certain HP tiers and common responses. When the format shifts (new set, ban list, or regional breakout deck), the cards you protect in your discard and the prizing you play around change with it.

One Energy attachment per turn; one Supporter per turn — plan turns so neither rule strands your win condition.

Turns still follow the familiar flow you practiced in earlier divisions (draw, develop the board, attach, then press for damage or positioning). What changes is how tightly you sequence before the attack step: search effects, draw, and Ability windows are all paid in real time.

Scenario: Pivoting after a bad Prize check

You prize two copies of your primary attacker and see both in prizes after a check. Your resources now point to a backup attacker or a longer setup line. The Masters play is to acknowledge the new line early — benching, conserving bounce, and avoiding discards that lock you out — instead of playing as if the original plan were intact.

Discipline

Track what your opponent can still find from deck and what is already gone. When their deck can spike a win off one more swing, use your remaining interactions to shrink that probability — not just to deal damage this turn.

Think in outs: how many realistic draw steps or search effects remain that find your last piece? When outs are low, prioritize lines that preserve another look at the deck — even if they look less flashy on the stack of damage.

Side events, drafts, and team formats can split focus. If your goal is a deep Day 2 run, treat every optional commitment as a budget item: sleep, hydration, and mental freshness are resources too.
