Chapter 3: The Power of Energy

Your team cannot attack if they are too tired. They need Energy!

Energy cards power up your team. There are many different types of Energy, and each type has its own special color and shape.10

(Design Note: Insert custom, non-infringing icons here, such as a bright red flame for Fire, a blue splash for Water, a yellow spark for Lightning, and a green leaf for Grass.)

Look at the attack on your monster card. It has little colorful symbols next to it. You must match the Energy cards in your hand to the symbols on the monster card before you can use the move.

If the attack shows two red flames, you must attach two Fire Energy cards! If it shows one blue splash, you need one Water Energy card.

[Parent Prompt]: Lay out three different original Energy cards. Ask: "Can you find the blue splash? If we have two yellow sparks and one red flame, how many energy cards do we have altogether? Let's count them: One, two, three!"
