Chapter 5: How to Take a Turn

Taking a turn is as easy as following four steps in order: Draw, Bench, Attach, and Attack. Just follow these steps every time it is your turn!

Step 1: Draw.

Take one card from the top of your deck and put it in your hand. You must do this at the very beginning of every turn!

Step 2: Bench.

If you have new Basic monsters in your hand, you can put them on your Bench so they are ready to battle later.

Step 3: Attach.

Pick one Energy card from your hand. Slide it under one of your monsters. Remember, you can only attach ONE Energy card per turn, so choose carefully!

Step 4: Attack!

Choose one of your active monster's attacks. Make sure you have enough Energy attached to pay for it. Once you attack, your turn is over!

[Parent Prompt]: Let's practice the steps. Have your child physically act out drawing a card, placing a card on the table to be the Bench, and sliding an energy card under it to Attach.
