At this tier you read alongside your child. Every chapter introduces one concept at a time and names the skill while your child practices it. The pace is slow on purpose.
What your child learns at this tier
- Skip-counting by tens through damage counters - the move damage is always in tens, so counting becomes a natural game habit.
- Sight-word and early-decoding practice by reading card names, Trainer text, and attack descriptions aloud.
- The DBAA turn loop (Draw, Bench, Attach, Attack) as a multi-step sequence your child can internalize.
- Greater-than / less-than reasoning by comparing Hit Points across cards.
- Sportsmanship and emotional regulation through wins, losses, and "good game" rituals.
